Project description

The subject of the study is the numerical simulation of long-term development in a heat-storing medium. For this purpose, a digital model of a geothermal storage facility with variable heat supply over time is to be created. The particular challenge of the proposed project lies in simulating the long-term behavior of heat propagation. To this end, recently developed methods of scientific computing (FED method) will be applied and compared with standard methods. An important practical aspect of the proposed project is the behavior of heat development as a function of the thermal conductivity properties of different media. For this purpose, a systematic numerical investigation of different materials will be carried out.
