It all begins with an observation. At some point, Dr Denis Newiak, a researcher at the BTU, noticed something that sounds trivial yet is far-reaching: television series strikingly often tell stories about people who are lonely – not on the fringes of the story, but at its very heart.

A cultural project run by BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg brings Ukrainian refugees together – with needle and thread and a centuries-old tradition that serves as an anchor in a foreign land.

On the initiative of Prof. Dr Wolfram Berger, Vice-President for Internationalisation at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, the EIZ and BTU have further expanded their international activities in India. The aim of the outreach mission was to establish new partnerships in research, teaching, innovation and entrepreneurship.

On 29 July 2026, a delegation from Pakistan visited the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU). During discussions with the university management and students, Ambassador Saqlain Syedah learnt about study programmes and areas of research.

In June 2026, four EUNICE Student Research Clubs presented their diverse and innovative research projects to an EUNICE jury. With a clear focus on interdisciplinary approaches, the clubs put forward their own research ideas with a view to developing solutions to complex societal issues.
