Scholarship Programme "Metropolises in Eastern Europe"
The scholarship programme "Metropolises in Eastern Europe" enables individual study and research stays in combination with language courses and internships. Unusual projects away from established academic paths are welcome. Funding is provided for stays in the countries of Eastern, Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe or the post-Soviet region lasting a minimum of seven and a maximum of 24 months. Please note: Projects in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine will not be funded under the 2023 application procedure. In the 2022 application procedure, projects for the above-mentioned countries were also not admitted to the procedure.
The programme is also open to students who are not yet sponsored by the Studienstiftung. Students who have had little or no contact with Eastern European countries can also apply. The scholarship is open to students of all subjects - except art, design, music and film. After returning from Eastern Europe, the programme participants will continue to be supported by the Studienstiftung.
Scholarship holders of the Metropolis Programme can receive funds for living expenses as well as subsidies for tuition fees, language courses and travel expenses. In addition, the scholarship opens up the opportunity for exchange with scholarship holders and alumni of the programme.
