URGENT NOTE: Only semester tickets for the summer semester 2020 are valid as tickets

The goodwill regulation of the VBB expired on 28 June 2020. Only the semester ticket for the summer semester 2020 is valid as ticket. An expired semester ticket (WiSe 2019/20) + certificate of enrolment for the summer semester will not be recognized anymore.

DB Regio AG informed that on the trains of the RE lines 5, 10, 15 and 18 as well as on the RB lines 43 and 49 students of the BTU are often encountered who show an expired semester ticket (WiSe 2019/20) in combination with the certificate of enrolment (SoSe 2020) as a ticket. The students argue that they have not yet received a current semester ticket from the university.

However, the goodwill regulation of the VBB expired on 28 June 2020. Only the semester ticket for the SoSe 2020 is valid as ticket.

Therefore all students should use the possibilities to update the chip card imprint at the BTU locations immediately!

The goodwill regulation is no longer applicable and an expired semester ticket (WiSe 2019/20) in conjunction with the certificate of matriculation (SoSe 2020) is no longer recognized as a ticket. In such cases, train staff are obliged to issue an increased fare/additional fare.
