Relief goods collection for Ukraine

As part of an initiative from the BTU's Bridge to Studies project at the Senftenberg campus, relief supplies for those affected by the war in Ukraine was collected until Thursday, March 10, 2022.

An aid transport towards the Ukrainian border started on Friday, March 11.

Donated was:

  • Baby food and clothing as well as diapers.
  • Other clothing of all kinds, including underwear, gloves and bedding
  • non-perishable food (e.g. rice, pasta, canned food)
  • bottled mineral water
  • Powerbanks, batteries, charging cables of all kinds and adapters
  • hygiene articles
  • medicines and bandages, first aid kits

This relief action is supported by participants of the project "Bridge to Studies" by the Institute for Environmental Technology and Recycling Senftenberg e.V., located at the BTU, which provides a minibus and trailer free of charge and contributes to the fuel costs, as well as by students of materials chemistry. Many donations were received from the BTU and the public.

After the appeal for donations from the BTU project "Bridge to Studies" for those affected by the war in Ukraine, the willingness to help from the university and the population was great. As a result, even two minibuses could be filled with relief supplies - here is a photo of them, taken during a stopover on the way to the Polish-Ukrainian border, for which project participants set off from Senftenberg on the morning of 11 March.
