Poznań University of Technology visits BTU

The strategic further development of the long-standing cooperation, in particular the joint, structured doctoral training, was the topic of a second exchange of representatives of the university management of the Poznań University of Technology with the presidium of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg on Friday, April 22, 2022, in Cottbus.

Prof. Paweł Śniatala, Vice-Rector for International Relations, and Prof. Alina Dudkowiak, Director of the PUT Doctoral School, from Poznań University of Technology visited BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. The focus of the discussion with BTU President Prof. Dr. Gesine Grande and Vice President for Research and Transfer Prof. Dr. Michael Hübner is the joint, structured doctoral training. In particular, the topics and disciplines involved, possible scholarships, joint announcement and application procedures as well as organizational processes are the topics of the meeting.

The BTU has already been cooperating with the Poznań University of Technology (PUT) in Poland for 30 years. Most recently, the cooperation was intensified by the joint project EUNICE, the European University for Tailored Education.

At the beginning of April, a delegation from BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg led by President Prof. Dr. Gesine Grande traveled to Poznań to exchange views with the university management there - represented by Rector Professor Teofil Jesionowski, Vice-Rector for International Relations Professor Paweł Śniatała, and Director of the PUT Doctoral School Professor Alina Dudkowiak - primarily on cooperation opportunities in the area of joint doctoral programs and activities for the further implementation of EUNICE. Other ongoing research activities include the EU projects SMART4All, a comprehensive network of digital innovation centers promoting technology and business development in Southern, Eastern and Central Europe, REUNICE, research with and for society in EUNICE, and the ERASMUS+ project CYBERFIT, a program aimed at training students and scientists* in cybersecurity and preparing them for the challenges of information and communication technologies in research and studies for internationalization.

Both universities appreciate the long-standing excellent cooperation and emphasized the importance of this partnership for each other. "We are pleased with the visit of the delegation from Poznań. As expected, we were able to make concrete plans for joint doctoral training and pave the way for a joint graduate school," sums up BTU President Prof. Dr. Gesine Grande.
