Famous works of music history

Outstanding artistic achievements of the summer semester coming to an end will be presented by students of the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, in Cottbus.

Students from the music degree programs at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg will present outstanding concert contributions performed during the summer semester on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 7 pm. The program will include excerpts from instrumental concertos that are among the most famous in music history - such as Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's Violin Concerto and the Guitar Concerto "Concierto de Aranjuez" - as well as Franz Benda's Flute Concerto. The evening's guests will experience the virtous "Chamber Fantasy on Carmen" by Ferrucio Busoni, as well as two classical piano sonatas by Muzio Clementi and Ludwig van Beethoven. In addition to instrumental music, students will perform songs and arias, such as "Song to the Moon" from Antonin Dvořák's opera Rusalka.

Date: Tuesday, July 19, 2022, 7 p.m. Location: Sachsendorf Campus, House 7, Concert Hall (7.112) Interested parties are cordially invited. Admission is free.

Background

The artistic-pedagogical study program Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg leads in eight semesters to a Bachelor of Arts in Instrumental or Vocal Pedagogy. Classical and popular music majors are offered. Prerequisite for admission to the study program is the passing of an aptitude test. Professional fields of activity after graduation include teaching an instrument, voice and/or elementary music pedagogy at public or private music schools as well as self-employment as a music educator and a career as an orchestra or chamber musician.
