The BTU has a "Fit@Campus" exercise trail.

With a colorful program of dance, sports, greetings and presentations, the "Fit@ Campus" exercise trail at the Cottbus central campus was ceremoniously opened on Wednesday, October 12, 2021. From now on, the outdoor sports equipment along Konrad-Wchsmann-Allee is freely accessible to all sports enthusiasts - to stay fit alongside studies and job.

Indian students kicked off the opening ceremony with a rousing choreography of modern and traditional Indian dances. In addition, the Cottbus association "Doitso-Budo-Kwai e.V." performed excerpts from a Filipino stick fight. With his greeting and the obligatory cutting of the ribbon, Prof. Dr. Peer Schmidt, Vice President for Teaching and Research at the BTU, opened the exercise course for use.

During a short tour, the variety of uses of the equipment was demonstrated and presented under expert guidance. Afterwards, it was "Fit@Campus": the guests were able to try out the new sports equipment and exchange ideas in a pleasant atmosphere over a refreshing drink and coffee. Now it is up to everyone to take advantage of this great opportunity to try it out and - true to the name of the exercise trail - to keep fit and stay fit.

We would like to thank all those who were involved in the preparation and implementation of the event, who actively helped to set up and dismantle the equipment, who participated in the sporting activities and all the guests who were present. Special thanks go to Techniker Krankenkasse, a long-standing partner of the University Sports and the University, which contributed to the success of the event. The event was also supported by the Studierendenwerk Frankfurt (Oder), which provided coffee free of charge.
