European University Alliance invites to the "EUNICE Weeks 2022"

Tournaments, cultural performances, stared lecturers and mobility forums will take place between the 20th October and the 24th November 2022 in the seven partner universities of the alliance. The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) is involved.

EUNICE Weeks, the major event of EUNICE European University starts its second edition on 20 October and will run until 24 November 2022. The tournaments “Alliance Games”, cultural sessions, invited lecturers and mobility forums are part of the programme hosted by the seven partner universities, all around a common thematic: “Shape your multicultural intelligence to build up your European future”.

During a full month students, academics, researchers and admin staff from EUNICE network will have an opportunity to exchange ideas, learn about other cultures and make connections. For the first time, the activities will be held on-site and will also be accessible to the general public on streaming. Registration will open soon.

As part of the Alliance Games, a volleyball tournament with teams from all Alliance members will be held at the Poznań University of Technology in Poland from the 24th to the 28th of October. The BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg will also be represented by a delegation of motivated volleyball players.

Another highlight is the orchestra concert "The Sound of Europe" by the Collegium Musicum on Tuesday, the 15th of November in the Christuskirche in Cottbus. Music by composers from the partner countries of the European University Alliance EUNICE will be played. In addition to its core of music students, the ensemble also has an influx of music-loving amateurs from the city of Cottbus and its surroundings. The young musicians are supported by professional instrumentalists  - on this evening, for example, by musicians from the Polish city of Zielona Góra. Admission is free.

The objective behind the Eunice Weeks is to raise to facilitate student employment through the development of intercultural and global skills, and contacts with local companies and social structures. Promoting the European shared principles that we have in common and the rich diversity of European culture is in the core of the philosophy of EUNICE University.

EUNICE, the European University for Customised Education, is designed to solve social and economic challenges, both globally and locally. In 2020, EUNICE was selected during the second call for pilot projects of European Universities of the European Commission. The alliance is nurtured by ten universities’ intellectual and infrastructure input -Poznan University of Technology (Poland), Brandenburg University of Technology (Germany), University of Cantabria (Spain), University of Mons (Belgium), University of Catania (Italy), Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (France) and University of Vaasa (Finland)-, resulting in a solid network of crossed interactions between educational institutions, industry and business partners, as well as other social, cultural, artistic and sports stakeholders. On 27 September, EUNICE welcomed three new partners : the University of Viseu (Portugal), the University of Peloponnese (Greece) and the University of Karlstad (Sweden).
