University certificates for practice supervisors

The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) has awarded certificates to 26 graduates of the current training program for health care professionals.

The continuing education project is a cooperation between the BTU and the Sana Klinikum Niederlausitz.

The jointly developed continuing education program for practice supervisors in health and social professions started in 2019 as a pilot project. Since then, 73 practice supervisors from the nursing professions, midwives, social workers, occupational therapists and physiotherapists have received the university certificate.

This 300-hour continuing education program is supervised and evaluated by the team of the Institute for Health in the Department of Vocational Education.

The cooperation project between the university and a regional player in the healthcare industry is a successful contribution to structural development in the region.

The scientific further education to become a practice supervisor in health and social professions is aimed at employees who take on pedagogical tasks in the institutions and would like to participate in the training of new professionals. Participants acquire pedagogical skills for planning, designing and evaluating practical guidance for trainees.

The cooperation partners at the BTU and Sana Klinikum are looking forward to welcoming new participants starting in the fall of 2023.
