Young entrepreneurs

In this context, the author Stefanie Schiemenz will inspire 40 pupils from Ströbitz elementary school with the topics of entrepreneurship and business succession as part of a reading at the STARTBLOCK B2 start-up center on 11 December 2023. Colab and the Mittelstand Digitalzentrum Spreeland will frame the program with a hands-on activity.

Children's book author and BTU employee Stefanie Schiemenz comments: "Over the past five years, we have been able to increasingly anchor the topics of entrepreneurship and company succession at BTU and raise students' awareness of this important topic. During my work and discussions with the students, I quickly realized that awareness-raising actually needs to take place earlier in order to fill the large succession gap in the future. That's how this non-fiction book for children of primary school age came about."

In the book "Succession secured!", young readers follow in the footsteps of family history together with siblings Emma and Emil and discover interesting facts. The children learn about the entire process of founding a company and company succession - from the development of an entrepreneurial idea, product development, recruitment of staff and capital to company succession. Topics such as problem-solving processes, sponsoring and the Youth Employment Protection Act are also addressed. The courage to be an entrepreneur is presented in a child-friendly and multi-faceted way. The book, which has also been translated into English and Spanish, was created as part of the BMWK project "Lausitzer NachfolgeBus".
