BTU and Fraunhofer IZI-BB want to intensify their cooperation

Prof. Dr. Antje Bräumner, Head of the Bioanalytics and Bioprocesses Division at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI, and her deputy and Head of the Molecular and Cellular Bioanalytics Department Dr. Eva Ehrentreich-Förster were guests at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg on February 8, 2024.

The focus of the introductory visit was on the main areas of cooperation to date and the potential and goals for intensifying scientific cooperation in Biotechnology. BTU President Prof. Gesine Grande and Prof. Michael Hübner, Full-time Vice President for Research and Transfer at the university, welcomed the excellent opportunities this presents for the development of BTU and Senftenberg as a university location.

The cooperation between the Institute of Biotechnology located there and the Fraunhofer IZI-BB is already based on a long-standing tradition. The realignment of the institute will create new, exciting fields for joint research projects on topics such as biosensor technology, metabolic engineering and cell analysis. New joint topics such as water, the environment and bioeconomy also offer promising opportunities.
