BTU welcomes exchange students for the summer semester

The Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) is once again looking forward to welcoming numerous new exchange students this year.

As part of the ERASMUS+ and STUDEXA exchange programs, students from Brazil, China, France, Greece, Italy, Cameroon, Japan, Jordan, Mozambique, Poland, Slovenia, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine and Hungary have found their way to Cottbus and Senftenberg.

They enrich the BTU student body with an enormous variety of academic and cultural experiences. Among them are also participants of the international Erasmus Mundus study programme "Euro Hydroinformatics and Water Management", which is offered jointly by five European universities and in which the students complete part of their studies at BTU, as well as students from the German-Jordanian University, who combine a semester of study at BTU with a subsequent internship in Germany.

The welcome event was held for the second time in this format at the beginning of the summer semester. The new exchange students received information on the organization of the language courses offered by the Language Center at various levels, both online and in person. The International Relations Office also provided a wealth of information on organizing studies at BTU as well as helpful tips on the cultural offerings in the region and planned day trips in the summer semester 2024. The program was also supplemented by a presentation from the StuRa's International Affairs Department, which informed the exchange students about various offers from the interest group and presented planned campus events.

The event not only provided an opportunity for an informative exchange, but also for making initial contacts. During a relaxed round of pizza and entertaining games to get to know each other, the international students were able to make initial connections with each other and with the staff at Cottbus University.

BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is delighted to welcome this diverse and international community into its midst and is looking forward to the shared experiences and adventures to come in the summer semester of 2024.
