BTU raises rainbow flag

On Monday, 17.06.2024, BTU opened the CSD action weeks for Cottbus and Lower Lusatia by hoisting the rainbow flag. The opening was performed by BTU President Prof. Gesine Grande and CSD Cottbus board member Christian Müller, who together sent a strong signal for diversity and tolerance. The event marks the beginning of a series of activities aimed at raising awareness of gender and sexual diversity and counteracting discrimination.

In addition to raising the rainbow flag, which will fly at all BTU locations during the campaign period, the first of four CSD benches was unveiled at the main campus. This will set a permanent visible sign at all BTU locations. In the evening, the film "Pride", an inspiring story about cohesion and the victory of love over prejudice, was shown at the BTU, showing in a touching and humorous way how different groups can come together to fight for justice and equality.

The entire program of the CSD action weeks with around 30 events can be found on the website of CSD Cottbus e.V . The highlight of the CSD action weeks is the big demonstration on Saturday, 29.05.2024, which starts at 3 pm at the Stadthallenvorplatz and also stops at the BTU main campus.
