Physiotherapy research symposium links research, teaching and care
The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) and the German Society for Physiotherapy Science (DGPTW) are jointly organising the symposium. More than 200 conference participants are expected. Those interested still have the opportunity to register for the symposium on the following website:
https://www.b-tu.de/fg-physiotherapiewissenschaft/forschungssymposium.
The focus is on evidence-based(best possible, proven effective and based on scientific methods) care for patients and on the goal of better linking research, teaching and care.
Prof. Dr Christian Kopkow, Head of the Chair of Therapy Sciences I and the Therapy Sciences study programme at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and member of the board of the German Society for Physiotherapy Science, is the scientific director of the 8th Physiotherapy Research Symposium.
Professor Kopkow emphasises: "We are delighted to be able to host this symposium at the BTU in Senftenberg and to offer participants from all over Germany and beyond the opportunity to share their research in the field of physiotherapy and to network. After the 5th Physiotherapy Research Symposium was already planned here in 2021 and had to take place online at short notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it makes us particularly happy to be able to showcase our research and teaching experience on site and present our great Campus Senftenberg BTU campus."
The scientific programme of the 8th Physiotherapy Research Symposium is characterised by many interesting contributions from different subject areas. Participants will present their research, exchange ideas, deepen their networks and acquire new knowledge.
Participants can also look forward to keynote lectures by renowned officers, such as Prof. Hans Aage Lund (Western Norway University of Applied Sciences), Dr Anne Gärtner (TU Dresden), Prof. Dr Annette Probst (University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen) and Assistant Prof. Alessio Bricca, PhD (University of Southern Denmark). In addition to lectures and poster presentations, the programme includes numerous workshops.
Workshops will be offered aton the following topics, among others: Research Paradigms, Virtual Reality (VR) in the Therapy of People with Chronic Pain, Quantitative Sensory Testing, Bias Risk in Randomised Controlled Trials, Learning Place University and Practice, (Digital) Training and Education Programmes for People with Osteoarthritis, Pain Therapy, Ankle Sprain - Sports Injury.
For the first time, there will be a science slam as part of the Physiotherapy Research Symposium.
