Lecture evening on technology and innovation for shaping a good future

In the public lecture series "Open BTU" with Prof. Dr Armin Grunwald on Wednesday, 11 December 2024, the focus will be on careful technology assessment in particular. All interested parties are invited to Audimax 1 at the Cottbus main campus of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) at 5.30 pm.

Prof. Dr Armin Grunwald is Head of the Office of Technology Assessment at the German Bundestag (TAB) and Head of the Institute of Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

Technological progress is of central importance for the transition to a sustainable and climate-friendly future. To ensure that it has the desired and, if possible, no negative consequences, a careful technology assessment is required in advance. In order to enable sustainable technology design in the area of regional transformation such as Lusatia, it is necessary to focus closely on the needs and demand of a region. To this end, technology assessment must provide future knowledge and guidance for decisions, for example through social and political counselling.

Moderation:
Prof. Dr. Roh Pin Lee, BTU, Chair of Decarbonisation and Transformation of Industry

Date: Wednesday, 11 December 2024, 17:30 to 19:00
Location: Audimax 1 at the main campus of BTU, Konrad-Wachsmann-Allee 3, 03046 Cottbus
