BTU pupils' university on the history of the universe

Participants in the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) pupils' university will embark on an exciting journey through space and time on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the university's Cottbus central campus.

Interested young people from the seventh to tenth grades are invited to the lecture "A brief history of the universe and what we learn from it" in the central lecture theatre building (Audimax 1) in Konrad-Wachsmann-Allee 3. Registration is not required.

The speaker is M.Sc. Akant Sengül, research assistantat the
Chair of Experimental Physics and Functional Materials  at BTU.

The pupils' university offers interested pupils the opportunity to understand scientific and technical topics and is intended to awaken a desire for discovery and research. This gives them the chance to develop their own skills and expand their talents. Together with Sparkasse Niederlausitz, BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is offering an attractive new programme in which interested students can work on various projects in small teams and consolidate their knowledge on excursions.

Outlook:
The next pupils' university lecture for interested young people from the seventh to tenth grades will focus on forensic investigation methods on Wednesday, 26 March 2025, at 5 p.m. in the Konrad Zuse Media Centre at the BTU in Senftenberg.
The speaker on the topic of "Inspector Fly - how insects help the police" will be Prof. Dr rer. nat. habil. Thomas Fischer, Head of the Central Analytics Laboratory at BTU.
The next children's university lectures  for  participants from the third to sixth grades will take place on Wednesday, 12 February 2025, at 5 p.m. at Campus Senftenberg and Thursday, 13 February, at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the Cottbus main campus.
The speaker on the topic "Lost? - It wouldn't have happened with maths! The Mathematics of Networks" is Prof. Dr rer. nat. habil. Ekkehard Köhler, Head of the Chair of Discrete Mathematics and foundations of Computer Science.
