BTU presents Lausitz Science Park at the Real Estate Arena 2025

When the German real estate industry meets at the Real Estate Arena in Hanover on 14 and 15 May, Lusatia will not be missing. As a growing economic area with a high level of innovation, the region will be presenting itself at the joint stand "Krasse Lausitz - die Chancenregion" with projects and current topics such as the development of the Lausitz Science Park.

The Lausitz Science Park (LSP), one of the outstanding structural development projects in the region, is presenting itself for the first time this year under the leadership of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg at the Real Estate Arena - the leading trade fair for property, project development and Urban Planning in northern Germany. With its presence, the project is emphasising its important role in the transformation of Lusatia into a nationally and internationally significant future location for research, technology and sustainable development.

At the joint stand "Krasse Lausitz - die Chancenregion", organised by the Cottbus Economic Development Agency, the Lausitz Science Park will provide information on current investment opportunities and the planned expansion of the infrastructure for research institutions, high-tech companies and start-ups. The focus will be on the close networking of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) with partners from business and science, some of whom will also be represented at the joint stand - including the city of Cottbus, Startblock B2 and ASG Spremberg. Together, the partners represent the commercial, industrial, residential, start-up, science and location sectors.

Hotspot for high-tech and sustainable urban development

"Real Estate Hannover offers an ideal platform to present our vision of a pioneering innovation campus and to attract potential partners, investors and project developers to the region," says project manager Dr Markus Schwenke. "We want to show that Lusatia is not only capable of structural change, but is already a hotspot for high-tech and sustainable urban development."

The Lusatia Science Park is being built on an area of 420 hectares in the vicinity of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and offers ideal conditions for technology-oriented companies in areas such as energy transition and decarbonisation, AI and digitalisation, global change and transformation processes as well as health and life sciences. With its strategic location and planned excellent research infrastructure, the LSP is one of the most important future projects in the region's structural change process.

Interested visitors can find the Lausitz Science Park from 14 to 15 May 2025 at Real Estate Hannover in Hall 004, Stand A22.

German Association of Cities takes place in Hanover at the same time

For the fourth time, real estate experts will come together in Hanover to discuss the industry's pressing issues - from digitalisation and sustainable urban development to new business models. The motto of this year's Real Estate Arena is: "We are building the future!". The event is expected to attract 400 exhibiting companies and 7,500 visitors from the worlds of business, politics, science and the media. Since its premiere in 2022, the event has established itself as a platform that focuses on the medium-sized property and construction industry as well as major cities beyond the metropolises.

The 43rd German Association of Cities will be held in Hanover at the same time under the motto "Together we are a city". Up to 1,500 delegates and guests from all over Germany will come together from 13 to 15 May to discuss what moves cities and creates cohesion.
