Cottbus Open on 22 June 2025 with international students from BTU

As part of the Cottbus City Festival, the Cottbus Open intercultural festival will take place in Puschkinpark on Sunday, 22 June at 12 noon.

BTU President Prof. Gesine Grande and the Mayor of Cottbus, Tobias Schick, will open the festival together with the Integration Commissioner of the State of Brandenburg, Ms Gonzalez Olivo.

The Cottbus Open, one of the most popular intercultural festivals in the region, once again invites you to celebrate the diversity of cultures this year. As the highlight of the Cottbus city festival, the festival attracts numerous visitors from the city and the region every year. On Sunday, 22 June 2025, guests can look forward to a varied programme full of musical highlights, rousing dances and culinary delights.

Under the motto "Tolerance knows no borders", the Cottbus Open sends out a strong signal in favour of tolerance, acceptance and open-minded coexistence. It offers a platform where people from different backgrounds can come together, meet and learn from each other. The event is characterised by a friendly and cosmopolitan atmosphere, characterised by lively sounds, exotic aromas and respectful interaction.

The non-stop stage programme, created by around 100 international performers, promises a firework display of cultures. Visitors can look forward to rousing performances and sounds, for example from the drumming group "Los Pepinos" and many more. BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg presents numerous international student groups, such as the Cottbus Beats as well as dance and singing by students from Pakistan and Nepal.

Another highlight is the BTU "Cottbus InterNETional" student food mile, where visitors can sample culinary specialities from 16 countries. The variety of smells and flavours reflects the cultural breadth of the festival and invites visitors on a culinary adventure.

Cottbus Open 2025 is organised in cooperation with the city of Cottbus, the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg and local associations and organisations.
