The BTU Children's University on an excursion to Confiserie Felicitas

The children's university at Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) is also offering exciting activities during the summer holidays. On Tuesday, 26 August 2025, between 9:45 and 11:30 a.m., the theme is "From the bean to the bar - a visit to the SchokoLadenLand of Lusatia".

This very special excursion is all about the sweet world of chocolate. A creative and delicious programme awaits the children at Confiserie Felicitas GmbH Hornow, Schokoladenweg 1, 03130 Spremberg.

A sweet welcome with a chocolate blossom whets the children's appetite for the other educational and enjoyable activities on offer in SchokoLadenLand. For example, chocolate painting and colourful snack decorations are used to decorate your own chocolate taler.

In addition to the creative fun, the children learn in a vivid way how natural raw materials are turned into a finished product - and gain insights into food production, sustainability and craftsmanship. In a short film, they learn how chocolate is made - from the cocoa bean to the finished treat.
Refreshments are provided in the form of Felicitas' own drinking chocolate.

As the number of participants is limited, it pays to be quick when registering. A small contribution towards expenses is required for participation.

Outlook:
The next Children's University event is another excursion and will take place on Thursday, 4 September from 9:45 am to 1:15 pm at the new Senftenberg stage. The children can expect a varied insight into the world of theatre - from the technology behind the scenes to the art of acting on stage.

The children's university events are designed to awaken an interest in solving scientific problems at an early age and give children the opportunity to experience the flair of a university.
BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg thus gives schoolchildren from the third to sixth grades the opportunity to get a taste of university life and teaches them how to solve everyday scientific phenomena in a child-friendly, exciting way. This stimulates formative experiences that awaken the youngest children's interest in science and reduce their inhibitions about university. In addition to the children's university lectures, excursions are also regularly organised.
