New language learning opportunities for students and staff in the 2025/26 winter semester
The main objectives are to strengthen German and English as languages of science and specialist fields, as well as other languages.
Multilingualism and transculturalism are key competencies for a successful educational career in the European Union. The ZES is therefore constantly working on developing a language concept to break down linguistic and cultural barriers at the university and in the job market. Language courses provide students with content and methodological support in their academic studies in German and/or English. With a focus on language, course participants are prepared for mobility abroad or professional activity in order to integrate them as graduates into either the regional or globalized labor market. German courses contribute to the social integration of international students and employees at the university.
The Language Center offers general and specialized language courses at various levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Students and employees at our university can choose from a wide range of preparatory, study-accompanying, curriculum-based, and either in-person or online language learning courses according to their previous language knowledge, needs, and interests.
Registration for the "German as a Foreign Language" language courses for the 2025/26 winter semester will take place from September 29, 2025, to October 5, 2025.
Registration for language courses accompanying studies (excluding "German as a Foreign Language") for the 2025/26 winter semester will take place from October 1, 2025, to October 24, 2025.
