Innovation impulses from research

On Wednesday, 1 October 2025, the Center for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus (chesco) at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg invites you to a contact conference at the research factory in Cottbus-Dissenchen.

The fifth edition of the event is once again aimed specifically at companies and all interested parties who want to receive direct innovation impulses for their own business. Under the motto "Inform and help shape", the conference from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. offers the opportunity to get to know the production and workshop possibilities at chesco, to find out about research collaborations and projects and to make valuable contacts with other companies and in dialogue with representatives from science and industry.

Programme and highlights

Visitors can expect an extensive programme with short practical workshops and guided tours of the production halls where hybrid-electric and electric drive systems are developed and tested. The manufacturing possibilities are not only important for the mobility sector, but can also open up opportunities for modern industrial production in numerous other sectors. This year's keynote speech by the Association of German Engineers (VDI) on the topic of "Digitalisation and additive manufacturing as pioneers for a resource-efficient and circular economy" fits in with this.

The tried-and-tested pitch round, in which companies present themselves, is also part of the conference once again. New this year: Lusatian initiatives and projects can also present their offers for companies in a pitch for the first time. This gives conference participants the opportunity to get to know strong networks in the Lusatia region and make direct contact with them. In addition, the previous series of workshops will be considered for targeted further development: Conference participants can contribute their own development impulses and work out specific development paths together with the chesco team.

With the series of workshops, the structural strengthening project "Transfer of agile manufacturing methods" (taf) supports the transfer of knowledge to the region and helps companies to get to know and take up innovations in the field of industrial manufacturing and digitalisation.

About chesco and the chesco contact conference

We make green mobility happen - that is the mission of the Centre for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus (chesco). The chesco researches hybrid-electric and electric drive systems for the mobility of the future. More than 30 chairs at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg contribute their expertise here. In addition to the development and testing of drive systems for aviation and other mobility sectors, a particular focus is on the production of prototypes. Innovative and agile production methods are utilised at chesco and are continuously developed further. These manufacturing methods can be used for various industries beyond the mobility sector. The contact conference is aimed at stakeholders from business and science who are interested in technological innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration and application-oriented research. The conference aims to strengthen the transfer of knowledge between research, development and business and to further expand the innovative strength of the Lusatia region. The chesco contact conference is organised in partnership with the Cottbus Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Brandenburg Economic Development Corporation.
