Weimar Excellence Initiative 2024

On 6 and 7 October 2025, the second seminar of the Weimar Excellence Initiative 2024 on "Flexible Microstructure, Customised Materials in Biomedical Engineering and Technologies" took place at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg.

Over 30 participants from Poland, France and Germany discussed current developments in biomedical Materials Research.
The event was organised by Prof. Dr. Wolfram Berge, Vice President for Internationalisation, Prof. Dr. habil. Eng. Mariusz Głąbowski, Vice President of Poznań University of Technology, and Dr Marie-Léa Rousseau, Attachée pour la Science et la Technologie of the French Embassy. The focus was on the development of multifunctional implants with integrated sensors, actuators and digitally controlled drug release. The seminar also served to prepare a European MSCA doctoral network and to further strengthen trilateral scientific cooperation.
