About the project

Free radios are non-commercial, participatory media that are open to everyone.

The radio day is the conclusion of the "Radioführerschein" project, funded by the Brandenburg Participation Fund - in the project, the BTU was able to offer numerous workshops between July and November 2025 in which interested people learned the basics of radio making. In the "Free Radio for Cottbus and Lusatia" project, funded until 2027 by the Lusatia Cultural Plan project fund, a free radio station is being set up for the region - with an open-access studio, regular editorial meetings and a weekly radio programme on DAB+ channel 12D and as a stream on the internet.
