Important Information Regarding the Webex License Transition

New Webex Contract & License Transition on May 25, 2026

Due to changes in the license terms, Webex licenses must be assigned according to status groups starting May 25, 2026.

All user groups can continue to use Webex as usual and participate in courses, meetings, and online sessions. Creating your own meetings will also remain possible.

Employees will continue to receive a full Webex license.

Students and external users will receive the “Basic Meetings” license in the future. This ensures that the essential functions remain available. However, under this basic license, self-created meetings may last a maximum of 40 minutes. If necessary, a new meeting can be started immediately afterward.

Alternatively, BigBlueButton is also available to all members of the BTU for online meetings and classes.
