On a mission with LEGO robots at the BTU Children’s University

The Children’s University at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) also has some exciting activities on offer during the summer holidays. For example, on Thursday 30 July 2026, an excursion will take anyone aged ten and over to the Newton Flight Academy Brandenburg at August-Bebel-Straße 2 in Cottbus between 10 am and 1 pm.

About the Children’s University event

A Children’s University workshop there is entitled ‘LEGO Robots on a Mission – Discover the World of Programming’. How far does a robot travel with one wheel rotation? How do you programme it so that it reaches a target with pinpoint accuracy or even traces a shape you’ve designed yourself? In this workshop at the Newton Flight Academy Brandenburg, participants programme LEGO robots using a simple block-based language and complete exciting missions. In the process, they’ll learn the basics of programming in a playful way and, along the way, discover how Mathematics helps to control robots with precision. Together, they’ll experiment, tinker and test – no prior knowledge is required, just curiosity and a love of discovery!

As the number of participants is limited, it’s worth performing the registration quickly. Please perform the registration by emailing kinderuni(at)b-tu.de.
