‘SHOWING LIFE!’ exhibition at the Senftenberg site

The Department of Art at the Institute of Education at BTU invites all members of the university community, as well as members of the public, to a presentation of students’ artistic works at the University Library (Building 3) on the Senftenberg campus.

The exhibition “SHOWING LIFE!” brings together the students’ diverse perspectives, forms of expression and experiences.

Alongside drawings, paintings and photographs from the Art module of the Teaching Degree for Primary Education, the library will also showcase a number of videos from the Institute of Social Work at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, as well as further works by students from the Institute of Education, who were invited to participate via an open call for contributions (call for submissions) to take part.
From around 7.00 pm, an evening cultural event with an open-ended conclusion will take place in Building 4, Art Room 4.235.

Inspiration for the exhibition came, amongst other things, from explorations of the social landscape of Senftenberg and the surrounding area. Encounters with various locations – including the museum, Senftenberg Castle and the Senftenberg Fortress – prompted an examination of spaces, everyday life, perception and their artistic representation.
