The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) is once again taking part in Cottbus Environment Week as part of its Open BTU public lecture series on Wednesday, 21 May 2025 at 5:30 pm. The speakers will be Prof. Dr Klaus Birkhofer, head of the Chair of Ecology at the university, and Sven Hoffmann, board chairperson of the Cottbus Beekeepers' Association.

As part of the 3rd Visionärinnen*Salon on 20 May 2025, experience a special kind of interactive lecture "POWER to - a foray through power, knowledge and gender in science" followed by a personal talk, an evening for women in science in particular with plenty of opportunity for exchange and networking.

On the occasion of the University:Future Festival - from 13 to 15 May 2025 in Berlin - the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) received the certificate of the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung for the successful strategy process within the framework of peer-to-peer consulting.

The prestigious Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics 2025 will be awarded to the international research teams of the LHC experiments ATLAS, CMS, ALICE and LHCb. Among them: former BTU doctoral candidates Maria Börner, Olena Karacheban, Ihar Marfin and Prof. Wolfgang Lohmann.

When the German real estate industry meets at the Real Estate Arena in Hanover on 14 and 15 May, Lusatia will not be missing. Over 40 Brandenburg educational institutions presented themselves. Among them was BTU, which was a crowd-puller with its programmes.

In the latest university ranking by the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE), the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) once again receives top marks, in particular for its support at the start of studies. BTU students gave the ranked study programmes an average of 4 out of 5 points.
