Sustainable housing concepts for the Grundbach estate in Olbersdorf

In May 2026, the Grundbach estate in Olbersdorf became a working site for architecture and urban planning students from Germany and the Czech Republic. As part of a workshop, students from the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and the Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT) developed visions for the future of the former miners’ estate.

Until Sunday, around 140 students and Departmental Committee representatives from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be meeting in Cottbus to discuss current issues in Civil Engineering, higher education policy and social matters.
