Studies leading to certification: Fire investigation - Chemistry and Physics of fire
Damage to property and persons caused by fire requires clarification of the cause and, if necessary, identification of the perpetrator for reasons of justice alone. This need for clarification is made considerably more difficult by many circumstances. With today's technical possibilities, the scene of a fire offers a wealth of evidence that can be analyzed (forensic technology). These must be recognized and secured. This is why it is recognized that investigating the cause of a fire is one of the most difficult and time-consuming tasks for criminalists. It is therefore referred to as the high school of criminalistics.
