Learning to shape the future?!
Insights from modern futures and transformation research

Our societies are facing immense challenges that will become even more intense in the future. Complexity and dynamism and thus confusion and feelings of insecurity are continuing to increase. Individuals and organisations will have to rethink and think ahead. This is where science-based futurology can help provide orientation, methods and impetus for sustainable transformation. Megatrends and scenarios often offer initial impressions of a desirable tomorrow. Learning processes are directly challenged by this, must and can strengthen action and design competences.

Competences for the future - made@BTU

Universities are faced with the complex task of adequately preparing their students for the far-reaching and fast-moving changes in the various areas of society. The promotion of future skills is an element that not only prepares students for the labour market of tomorrow, but also strengthens them in their personal and professional development in the long term. The Future Skill Readiness project addresses this issue and is developing a qualification programme for university staff that can be used to respond to the dynamically changing framework conditions in teaching.
The project is funded by the European Union and the state of Brandenburg.
Speaker: from the ZWW of the BTU, Future Skill Readiness project

Moderation: Prof. Dr Magdalena Mißler-Behr, BTU, Chair of ABWL, in particular Planning, Innovation and Foundation

Date: Wednesday, 29 January 2025, 17:30 to 19:00
Location: Audimax 1 at the main campus of BTU, Konrad-Wachsmann-Allee 3, 03046 Cottbus
