Dissertations with social relevance wanted!

Young researchers can now apply for the German Study Award 2022.

Doctoral students from all disciplines who complete their dissertation in 2021 with magna or summa cum laude can apply for the Körber Foundation's German Study Award until 1 March 2022. From the entries submitted, a jury will select the research papers that are of particular relevance to society.

A total of three top prizes of 25,000 euros each and six second prizes of 5,000 euros each will be awarded in the sections Social Sciences, Humanities and Cultural Studies, and Natural and Technical Sciences. This makes the German Study Award one of the most highly endowed awards for young academics in Germany.

"With the German Study Award, we honour young researchers who face the challenges of the 21st century with imagination, courage, creativity and excellence. Their ideas and findings are important for the future of our society," says the chairman of the jury, medical doctor and health scientist Eckhard Nagel from the University of Bayreuth.

Detailed conditions of participation and further information on the competition can be found at www.studienpreis.de.
