Research on long-time behavior of permanent anchors according to DIN 4125

Permanent soil anchors are one of the most important and indispensable construction units of (special) foundation construction. Since more than 20 years, they are an integral part of the permanent preservation of slopes and structures. The standards for anchors are described in the DIN 4125. The DIBt (German Institute for Building Techniques) regulates the type of anchor to use by granting general building approvals.

An overview of the permanent anchors approximate number that are installed in Germany is created. In this systematic catalog their types and their tasks are listed. Focal point of the investigation is the actual status of anchorages concerning corrosion resistance and determining the current carrying capacity. Further should also be included in the study, experiences with permanent anchorage, from other countries.

The research's aim is to determine suggestions to simplify the handling with permanent anchors.
