Future technologies of the BTU at the Formnext trade fair

At Formnext 2023 from November 07-10, 2023, more than 800 exhibitors and approximately 30,000 visitors will come together in Frankfurt am Main, transforming Frankfurt am Main into the capital of additive manufacturing.

In addition to additive production systems, users will also find technologies along the entire process chain at Formnext.
Thus, in addition to innovative 3D printers for industrial use, there are also

  • materials best suited to their application,
  • automation solutions,
  • software that supports the design, planning or production process, for example, as well as
  • technologies for post-processing or even quality control.

will be represented.

These thematic areas of the trade fair offer excellent opportunities to place BTU topics at the joint Berlin-Brandenburg booth under the responsibility of Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie GmbH.
This year, for the first time, the chair of Polymer-Based Lightweight Construction will take advantage of the opportunity to present research achievements at the trade fair. The focus of the trade fair appearance of the scientists* around Prof. Seidlitz will be additive manufacturing projects within the SpreeTec neXt project such as:

  • "End-to-end modeling of the plastic-based direct extrusion process",
  • "FCW powder: development and testing of a flexible, efficient and more resource-efficient manufacturing method for metallic powders",
  • "SLM process - development of an approach for alloy-specific determination of process parameters of the SLM process" and
  • "Scalable near-net-shape manufacturing of functionally optimized designed large structures."

A visit to the trade fair opens up prospects for making and developing further new specialist contacts, networks and cooperation opportunities for current research projects or new joint projects.
