Visit to the Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection

More than 100 employees of the Policy Department I Economic Policy visited a total of six stations in and around Cottbus as part of a departmental excursion and learned about innovative BTU research projects.

After a welcome by the Vice President for Research and Transfer, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Michael Hübner in the STARTBLOCK B2 start-up center, the participants went to the COLab open hands-on workshop located there and then to the FZ 3H research center with the SpreeTec neXt project, in which new manufacturing technologies for advanced, highly efficient components and systems for future energy technology are being researched and implemented in Lusatia. A stop was also made at the Science Gallery of the Information, Communication and Media Centre (IKMZ).

The guests were then taken by bus to the planned Lusatia Science Park, one of the outstanding structural development projects. In the next few years, an innovation landscape with international appeal is to be created here at the Cottbus site, combining excellent basic and applied research with innovative spin-offs and numerous Company Relocations. The sixth stop was the Center for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus - chesco - which researches hybrid-electric and electric systems for the mobility sector.

During a subsequent visit to Branitzer Park, the visitors were welcomed by Lord Mayor Tobias Schick.
