The BTU Student Council

The StuRa represents the students of the BTU internally and externally. Not an easy task, especially in the online environment.

"The pandemic has had a very multifaceted effect on our activities in the StuRa. We can only be reached by phone or e-mail, which makes it difficult to solve problems quickly and efficiently. If only one officer has to be quarantined, many things are left for two weeks. We lack personal contact with the students, which plays an important role especially with applications, queries, etc. The StuRa office was and is actually a place to meet. In times of pandemic, this was of course not feasible. But we miss not only the contact to the students, but also the campus life, the summer festival and the university sports in its original form. It was advantageous for us that we can currently hold our meetings in hybrid form, which proves to be practical especially with the different locations.

The biggest challenge is certainly to continue to provide the usual service in good quality under more difficult conditions (and of course not to infect ourselves with Corona :). However, there are also some things that have gone well despite the pandemic: we were able to successfully advocate for free trials and free semesters for students. We were also able to support the student body when something was to be done about the increase of the semester ticket. We were able to handle various FSR elections online and also otherwise support the students with combined forces, especially at the beginning of the semester."
