Student involvement in the town of Senftenberg
At the invitation of Mayor Andreas Pfeiffer, they used a hut provided free of charge from 5 to 7 December 2025 and were very successful throughout the entire Christmas market weekend.
They offered duck fishing in combination with a self-developed quiz on the topics of the study programmes at BTU Senftenberg. BTU merchandise items in gift bags were up for grabs. The focus was on information about study options and content rather than on revenue.
The BTU students' offers were particularly popular with children and their parents, and over 200 bags of merchandise were handed over the three days of the event. Mayor Andreas Pfeiffer was also extremely pleased with the students' involvement.
Students Elisa Michel, Lena Berthold and Robert Ritter from the Biotechnology, Applied Natural Sciences and Materials Chemistry Departmental Committee were involved, as were Paul Sinschek and Sebastian Ladendorf from the Medical and Electrical Engineering Departmental Committee at Campus Senftenberg.
Thanks for support
The students emphasise: "We would like to thank the following areas of BTU in particular for providing merchandise: Communication and Marketing, Study Orientation, Career Centre, Dual Study Programme, Knowledge and Technology Transfer, International Relations Office. We would especially like to thank the Mayor of Senftenberg and the Department of Culture and Social Affairs for their support."
