Graduation Senftenberg 2026
Successful final degrees are always a reason to celebrate! On 24 January 2026, the graduates of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg were ceremoniously honoured and bid farewell at the Konrad Zuse Media Centre on Campus Senftenberg. The President of BTU offered her personal congratulations and words of encouragement to the recent graduates.
Together with guests from Cottbus, over 160 relatives and friends gathered to celebrate the new alumni in style. Graduates from the study programmes Civil Engineering, Vocational Education in Healthcare Professions, Biotechnology, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Resource Management, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Chemistry, Nursing Science, Environmental Engineering and Social Work proudly accepted their honours.
In her speech, BTU President Prof. Gesine Grande congratulated the graduates and also gave them an inspiring mission for the future:
"Today you stand before us as graduates - highly qualified and ready to change the world."
The ceremony was musically framed by a quartet of students from the Instrumental and Vocal Performance and Teaching study programme. There were also great speeches from the student body by Gina Göritz and Saharnaz Hashemifrom Biotechnology and Biotechnology respectively. A special highlight was the ceremonial handover of the graduation hats and the traditional joint hat toss, which made for many smiling faces. At the subsequent champagne reception and the atmospheric snowflake ball, the successful final degree was duly celebrated and offered space for exchange, souvenir photos and a look into the future.
BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg wishes all graduates all the best for the future and looks forward to welcoming many of them back to campus as alumni in the future.
