University Patent Database: For the first time, you have centralized access to our university’s entire intellectual property portfolio. The database provides a detailed overview and description of all university patents, classifies them by subject area, and lists specific technology transfer opportunities as well as the current Technology Readiness Level (TRL). 

Classification of Intellectual Property Rights & Framework Conditions: A precise distinction between the relevant forms of intellectual property—ranging from patent and utility model protection for technical inventions to trademark and design rights. This classification system is supplemented by in-depth information on the responsible institutions and the associated timelines. In addition, the portal provides a clear description and contractual classification of research collaborations and research contracts to illustrate the possible pathways for rights allocation at the interfaces between academic research and industry.

Guide to Invention Disclosure: A comprehensive overview of the procedure under the Employee Invention Act (ArbnErfG), including the rights, obligations, and compensation claims of all university employees, as well as practical guidance on preserving priority dates regarding freedom of publication in connection with patent applications, without compromising your scientific publications.

Transparent Responsibilities: Insights into the operational structure of the Department of Patents and Licenses, as well as the composition and strategic approach of the university’s Patent Advisory Board.
