On 4 December 2025, the Federal Government Commissioner for Eastern Germany, Minister of State Elisabeth Kaiser, and the Lusatia Representative of the Minister President Dr.-Ing. Klaus Freytag visited the Center for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus (chesco) at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

"How flying robots measure our world" - this is the topic of the last children's university lecture of 2025 at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) on 10 and 11 December.

On Tuesday, 9 December 2025, from 5 pm, the film screening "Die Architekten" (GDR, 1990), the reading of the novel "Die Allee" (Galiani Verlag, 2025) and a discussion with director Peter Kahane and author Florentine Anders will take place at Cottbuser Weltspiegel. The graduate programme Enabling Flourishing Life through Basic Education and Literacy (GrAl) at Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus–Senftenberg presented its research at the WERA Focal Meeting 2025 in João Pessoa, Brazil.

Anita Demuth, Deputy Head of the PtX Lab Lausitz in Cottbus, will conclude the Open BTU series on "Aerospace - Lusatian research above the clouds" on Wednesday, 3 December 2025 at 5:30 pm.

The Centre for Structural Change and Regional Development (ZeStuR) at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), which is funded by the federal government with 16 million euros from the Structural Strengthening Act, will begin its work in November 2025.

The Swedish Concrete Association has honoured Prof. Dr.-Ing. Angelika Mettke from BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg with the prestigious Swedish Concrete Award 2025. Prof. Mettke is head of the field of study Structural Recycling.

The highlight of this year's Transfer Day at the BTU was the first presentation of the BTU Transfer Prizes, worth a total of 14,000 euros: The winners are Mesh4U and NMI Technologies. A special prize went to the Energy Innovation Centre (EIZ).

23 students at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg will receive a Deutschlandstipendium scholarship in the 2025/26 academic year for their excellent academic performances and social commitment.
