Federal Minister Lisa Paus honors a joint project of the BTU and the Cottbus Chamber of Crafts

Focus on women in management positions

Under the motto "My future: female boss in the skilled trades", the Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Lisa Paus, recognized projects and events that take innovative and forward-looking approaches to promoting women in management positions. On December 5, 2023, the final event of the pilot project "Frau-Handwerk-Nachfolge" took place in Berlin. Fourteen approaches to strengthening career opportunities for women were recognized.

The BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and the Chamber of Skilled Crafts were honored for the joint event "Perspectives for girls and women in business, science, skilled crafts and politics" on June 21, 2023. Here, seven women from a wide range of fields inspired more than 60 people to pursue new career paths. Based on their own career paths, they showed that in addition to courage, intuition, joy and good networks are also important for women on the path to professional success. Further information can be found here.

Stefanie Schiemenz, the project manager of the Lusatian Succession Bus, commented: "Our event on June 21, 2023 showed the female students the potential that lies in the skilled trades and, above all, as a female boss in the skilled trades. This award shows once again that this topic has arrived in politics."
