The BTU is home to a very successful guitar class, which has produced a number of prize winners at international competitions. A large proportion of the graduates of the educational and performing arts course – currently around 75% – are in permanent employment at music schools or conservatories.
In addition to the instrumental pedagogic and artistic degree programmes, the guitar department offers talented young guitarists – who do not yet feel ready to successfully take an entrance examination – the opportunity for intensive study preparation, free of charge.
Furthermore, the guitar scene in Cottbus is regularly enlivened by visiting international exchange students and the events of the local guitar society.
