Useful websites for studying

The BTU account is required for pretty much every service and every registration at the university. Your BTU e-mail address is also stored in this account. You can also use the university's VPN service with it.

The account consists of a username and a password. The account is related to you as a person and should not be passed on, as it contains all your data. You can view the details of your central BTU account and change your password and e-mail settings on the following web portal:

https://www.b-tu.de/account (Please note that the site is only available in German)

The Infoportal Lehre is the place to go if you are looking for modules or module descriptions. In the module descriptions, you can find out what to expect in the respective module, which prerequisites are mandatory and which are recommended for the module and how the final examination works, etc.

You can also find the study programme plans for the semester you have selected via the "Courses" tab.

In this portal you can:

  • View and download certificates and notifications
  • View information on the payment of your fees
  • Submit applications for leave of absence, de-registration and view the processing
  • Register for new degree programmes or continuing Master's programmes if you already have a degree
  • Change your contact details

The certificates and notifications also include the BAföG certificate, which you must submit to the BAföG office, and the certificate showing the semester fees you are due to pay.

The BTU offers a VPN service. This makes it possible to use internal BTU services outside the campus.
The VPN client from Cisco is used. This allows you to access the library from home and benefit from all BTU licences.
