Study of physics at the BTU

The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg offers excellent study conditions for studying physics. In addition to the many subject-independent advantages of the BTU, such as

  • modern university campus in the immediate vicinity of the city center,
  • Cross-faculty study and research, personal atmosphere (about 7000 students, so no mass university),
  • many free places for stays abroad and scholarships,
  • Student dormitories directly on campus,
  • good urban infrastructure and attractive surroundings (parks, Spreewald, lake landscape),

Physics offers many advantages that set us apart from most other universities:

  • small courses (5 - 30 students) in modern rooms
  • All lectures are supplemented by exercises in small groups (5-15 students).
  • Many internships ensure that the material is put into practice. Here, too, as a small university, we can offer excellent support in 2-man groups.
  • Many personal contacts between students, employees and professors ensure good orientation in the course of study, so that a rigid, school-based course structure can be dispensed with.
  • Students are involved in the current research areas of the chairs at an early stage. Many students already work as student assistants in research and teaching.
  • An external internship integrated into the course enables contacts to the world of work at an early stage. The diverse contacts to companies and research institutes can be used here.
