Colloquium (virtuell)
Human medicine and the health sciences are concerned with research into the causes and spread of diseases, their therapy and issues of prevention. While the health sciences - based on the salutogenetic approach - place a special focus on health-promoting aspects and take a population-based view, medicine in most subjects tends to follow the pathogenetic approach and focuses on the individual.
Both disciplines complement and enrich each other in many ways and in a wide variety of content-related, methodological, and profession-related places.
Against this background, the lecture will address the following questions:
- Which synergies can be identified, related to health sciences and medicine?
- What differences and points of friction exist between the two disciplines and how could these be mitigated?
- How can the many synergies and commonalities be used more effectively in the future to optimize research, teaching and care in the context of neighboring disciplines?
