The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Energy Systems combines the potential of developing highly efficient drives, designs and materials with optimising processes in production and value creation. Research into low-emission aircraft engines and lightweight construction solutions using fibre composites is linked to topics such as prototype testing, simulations, surface coatings, quality assurance and factory planning systems. In the field of energy technology and energy systems, the focus is on the challenges of the energy transition in terms of the conversion, storage and distribution of electricity, gas and heat. Electrical systems consider the process-oriented development of measurement and control, control and drive systems.
