Teaching

Organic Chemistry in the Programs Angew. Naturwissenschaften and Biotechnologie (B.Sc.)

Organic chemistry is one of the classic main subjects in chemistry and the basis for organic materials and polymer chemistry. In order to gain an overview of the various facets of organic chemistry, we offer the compulsory and compulsory elective modules shown (see overview). These should be sensibly supplemented with other courses (in particular Analytical Chemistry 14217 and possibly 14218) if you plan to focus on organic chemistry / polymers (e.g. research internship and/or Bachelor's thesis).

Organic Chemistry modules are also offered as compulsory and compulsory elective modules for students on the Biotechnology (B.Sc.) course.

Organic and Polymer Chemistry in the Program Chemistry (M.Sc.)

In the Master's program, we contribute to the modules 14298 (Methods in Analytics) and 14309 (Modern Concepts of Material Design), which teach important concepts for the modules of the 2nd semester as well as the research work and the Master's thesis. These modules also include lab work. Module 14309 is a mandatory prerequisite for the compulsory elective module 14297 and is normally expected if you wish to complete your Master's thesis in our department.

Prof. R. Rosencrantz offers the two modules Biomaterials I + II (lecture and practical course), which complement and expand the range of courses in organic chemistry and polymers.
