Consortium Environmental Chemicals and Cellular Stress Responses

Research of the consortium “Environmental Chemicals and Cellular Stress Responses” investigates how acute and chronic exposure to environmental chemicals affects eukaryotic cells and intercellular communication. The interdisciplinary consortium brings together eight research groups with complementary expertise in cell biology, immunology, toxicology, molecular biology, microbiology and polymer and analytical chemistry. Our research aims to identify signaling pathways, cellular stress responses and changes in intercellular communication across different cellular contexts, thereby advancing our understanding of how environmental stressors perturb cellular homeostasis and function.
