The Chair of Economic and Industrial Sociology welcomes you to its website

Economic processes interact with individual and societal experiences. Crises and processes of upheaval in economic and working life challenge both institutional frameworks and individual and collective options for action. Adaptation and change are negotiated, sometimes implicitly, sometimes explicitly, between actors in differently equipped social positions. The resulting distribution of opportunities and risks reflects the broader social balance of power. Internationalization, digitalization, ecological threats, and other overarching dynamics are key factors in these social processes. Research and teaching at the Chair of Economic and Labor Sociology address these questions from diverse perspectives.
