The world as a guest in Cottbus

On June 4, 2024, the Federal Foreign Office's official visitor tour visited the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg to learn about structural change and the development of the Lausitz Science Park.

The theme of this year's trip was: "Socially just energy transition and climate protection".

15 multipliers (specialist journalists, economic and labor market experts and representatives of think tanks) from Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, India, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Korea, Montenegro, South Africa, Turkey, the Philippines, Senegal and the USA learned about BTU, the Department of Structural Change and the development of the Lausitz Science Park.

In the Science Gallery in the IKMZ, between prototypes and exhibits showing the technologies of the future and milestones in science, the participants discussed structural change and decarbonization and how Lusatia can be developed into a science location.
